Go vote !

En français In Nederlands.

Are you an expatriate living in Belgium? Do you want to live in a more humane, fair, and healthy society? Let your voice be heard by voting in the local elections on October 14th, 2018.

You and your neighbors breathe the same air. Your children cycle through the same streets. It makes sense that you should have a say in the future of your neighborhood and your environment.

Who?

  • Are you an EU citizen living in Belgium?
If you are over 18 years old and officially residing in Belgium, you are allowed to vote in the local elections.
  • Not an EU citizen?
You are allowed to vote if you are over 18 years old and have been residing in Belgium for at least five consecutive years.

How?

  • To be eligible to vote, you must first register with your local authority. The deadline for registration is July 31st. Your application will need to be approved, so it’s best to register sooner rather than later.
  • Registration forms are available from your city hall or online, at www.ikstemook.be.
  • Your local authority will notify you when your registration is approved. Once you become a registered voter, you’ll be obligated by law to vote in the municipal council elections on October 14, like all Belgian citizens.
